During the last weekend of September (from 23/9/16 until 25/09/16) an international team of trainers, host team and a project officer came together at the Saint John Bosco college in Battersea, England for the preparation meeting of ‘Take the next step’.
‘Take the next step’ is a training seminar for returned international volunteers focusing on the topic of refugees and migration. The St John Bosco college, close to the English capital of London, will be the venue for this DBYN activity. From 16/11/2016 until 21/11/2016 international volunteers from all over Europe will come together in Battersea and have the opportunity to reflect on their intercultural experiences with other international volunteers and learn more about the topic of migration. One of the main aims of ‘take the next step’ is to develop the project management skills of the participants and learn them how to integrate their own intercultural experiences into projects for their local communities. ‘Take the next step’ is part of the larger DBYN project “Don Bosco 4 Refugees” (DB4R).
During the preparation meeting the trainers, host team and project officer discussed and finalized the programme, talked about the integration of the topic of migration in the sessions and got familiar with each other and the venue. Such a strong team guarantees yet another amazing Don Bosco Youth-Net activity!
On this blog we are posting extra resources on Don Bosco, DBYN, Human Rights, Migration & Refugees, Campaigns, Intercultural learning, Active citizenship, and specific resources linked to the different activities in the DB4R project.
